About Us

Community Cars is the first door to door transport service in Dundee, we have a friendly team of volunteers and two paid members of staff who work tirelessly to ensure we can provide the best service possible for our community. We do this to ensure our friends, neighbours and family can carry out everyday tasks and journeys. This helps to reduce loneliness and isolation by giving people the opportunity to get out of the house.

We are funded through the Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership. We have completed a huge amount of journeys and helped over 200 people get from A to B: be that to go shopping, visit family and friends, going to the bank, a medical appointment or even just a treat, for example a hair appointment!

We also run the ‘Out & About’ bus which takes people over the age of 65 out on short trips where they will meet other people. This service picks up and drops off at your door.

Shirley is our Administrator and is the friendly voice of Community Cars. Shirley can be found at the end of our phone on a Monday – Friday, 9am – 1pm.
